MOSTAR, Dec 12 (Hina) - A regional office of the international
peace coordinator, Carl Bildt, would be opened in Mostar next year,
Mostar Mayor Ivan Prskalo announced on Thursday after meeting
Deputy Mayor Safet Orucevic and EU special envoy Martin Garrod.
Garrod discussed an ad hoc meeting of EU foreign ministry
experts which he attended last week in Brussels. After the expiry
of Garrod's mandate, a follow-up unit would be dispatched to Mostar
to complete the projects initiated by the EU Administration. The
follow-up unit would play no political role, Garrod stressed.
Prskalo said he expected Friday's session of the Federation
Forum to "make his job as mayor easier." He added that he had
already contacted the police regarding the suspension of evictions
from Mostar flats.
