ZAGREB, Nov 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament House of Representatives on Friday ended a discussion on the Draft State Budget for 1997, in which around 50 members of Parliament had participated. Finance Minister Bozo Prka said that
the government would consider all representatives' suggestions by the second reading in the Parliament. He added it was difficult to establish priorities among the reconstruction of the country, the return of displaced persons, salaries on the state budget, pensioners and so on. However, disburdening of economy came first, Prka stressed.

At Friday's discussion, members of Parliament suggested that
the budget should be oriented towards the future, that resources
intended for displaced persons would be insufficient, that
minorities receive 25 percent more financial resources than had
been set aside in the budget for 1996.
MP's also suggested a stricter control of the use of energy
products, a rise in salaries in education and culture at least for
20 percent, a decrease of entertainment expenses, radical
economizing on all levels, and the decentralization and decrease of
the bureaucratic apparatus.
