ZAGREB, Nov 26 (Hina) - Croatian pensioners sent a telegram to
President Franjo Tudjman from a peaceful protest rally on November
23 welcoming his return home from medical treatment in the United
States and expressing a conviction that he would fully support
their demands for better living conditions.
"We are convinced that you will fully support our justifiable
demands for improving the living conditions of Croatian pensioners
so that now in peace and after Croatia's admission to the Council
of Europe they can finally feel the benefits of national freedom,
independence and democracy in the state based on the rule of law
and welfare," said the telegram a copy of which was faxed to Hina
on Tuesday by the President's Office.
