PRETORIA, Nov 18 (Hina) - Possibilities of economic cooperation
between Croatia and southern African countries were the main topic
of talks between Croatia's Foreign Minister Mate Granic and
Southern African Development Community (SADC) representatives. The
talks were held in Pretoria on Monday.
Representatives of Angola, Botswana, Republic of South Africa,
Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Another
member-states of the SADC are Tanzania, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland.
The SADC officials showed interest in projects for joint
investment and the transfer of technology. They were also
interested in using capacities of the Croatian port of Rijeka.
Croatia has been invited to attend a regular annual SADC
meeting that will take place in Namibia in February 1997.
Foreign Minister Granic will meet his South African
counterpart Alfred B. Nzo in Pretoria on Monday.
