At the moment, it was clear that there was a rift between
military and police officials in the Serb entity, Murphy said, but
failed to announce possible steps of Bildt's Office in clearing up
the situation.
IFOR spokesman Simon Haselock said that the commander of NATO
ground forces in Bosnia, General Michael Walker, would soon meet
with the newly appointed Bosnian Serb army commander, General
Colic, and try to establish exactly who had the command over troops
in the Serb entity.
Haselock however refused to comment on Monday's talks between
General Walker and Mladic's close asssociate General Tolimir.
The talks had ended with no special conclusion, Halesock said.
