ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Tuesday received US Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights
John Shattuck, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Granic informed the guest about Croatia's efforts in the
process of peaceful reintegration of Eastern Slavonia, Baranja
and Western Srijem.
He stressed the willingness of the Croatian government to
cooperate with the UN Transitional Administrator in those areas,
US General Jacques Klein, and the international community.
Granic reiterated Croatia's readiness to fully cooperate
with the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia in
The Hague.
Croatia firmly supported the Dayton peace process, the
strengthening of the Bosnian Federation and its linking to
Croatia, Granic said, stressing the need to establish all
institutions of power in Bosnia-Herzegovina as soon as possible.
Shattuck said that the United States appreciated the role
Croatia had played in bringing about peace and stabilizing the
region and would further support Croatian efforts in this
process.
