ZAGREB, Oct 31 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Thursday received the Crown Prince of Jordan, Al Hasan Ben Talal,
the President's Office said in a statement.
Tudjman thanked the guest for the involvement of Jordanian
troops previously as part of the UN Protection Force and
currently as part of the UN Transitional Administration (UNTAES)
in the Danube river area of eastern Croatia.
"Croatia would like the UNTAES mandate to expire in line
with an agreement with Transitional Administrator Jacques Klein,
with an extension of the basic mandate for three plus three
months," the President said.
Ben Talal supported the swift completion of the UNTAES
mandate, assessing that the three-plus-three formula was an
acceptable way to complete the reintegration process
successfully.
Croatian officials attending the talks included Presidential
Chief of Staff Ivo Sanader, Foreign Policy Adviser Zeljko Matic
and Aide-de-Camp Major General Kresimir Kaspar.
Ben Talal was accompanied by Prince Rashed Ben Al Hasan.
