MOSTAR, Oct 30 (Hina) - Two bridges on the Sarajevo-Mostar road,
whose reconstruction was financed from a World Bank loan, were
opened to traffic on Wednesday.
The reconstruction works took six months and were carried out
by the Sarajevo-based Hidrogradnja company. The works cost US$ 3.5
million.
Federal Prime Minister Izudim Kapetanovic ceremonially cut the
ribbon in the presence of several ministers and World Bank
representatives.
"The bridges at Bijela and Jasen will considerably speed up
the traffic on the roads connecting the southern regions of the
Federation with central and northern Bosnia," Deputy Transport and
Communications Minister Pavo Boban commented.
The Bosnian Federation is planning to invest US$ 35 million in
the reconstruction of bridges by the end of this year.
