ZAGREB, Oct 12 (Hina) - A partial solar eclipse was noticed in
Croatia on Saturday afternoon. At 03:31 p.m. for the first time the
moon came between the sun and the earth. At 04:44 p.m. the moon
covered 57 percent of the appearing diametre of the sun.
The eclipse was recorded in northern Croatia, the Zagreb-based
planetarium head Ante Radonic said this afternoon. It ended at
05:56 p.m. Saturday.
This phenomenon was also noticed in northern Africa.
The next solar eclipse will happen on August 11, 1999, when in
Hungary it can be seen as the total eclipse.
The total solar eclipse in Croatia was recorded on February
15, 1961, Radonic said.
