The year of 1995 was successful from the point of view of the
Croatian central bank, but financial reorganization had a slower
pace, Skreb said.
The savings of Croatian citizens had a high growth rate - last
year they increased by 50% and in the first eight months of 1996
they registered a 30%-rise.
Currently, the savings of Croatian citizens amounted to more
than three billion dollars.
On behalf of the Finance and State Budget Committee, Djuro
Njavro described the year of 1995 as successful, stressing it was
realistic to expect a 7%-rise in economic growth in 1996.
The NBH will also have to investigate the growing insolvency
as well as the problem of internal debt.
The NBH also had to establish the total debt ratio and make a
plan of gross national product growth, Njavro said.
