ZAGREB, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS)
announced on Thursday it would table a motion of no confidence in
the government.
HSLS said in a statement that the government's report on
the execution of conclusions adopted by the House of
Representative with regard to a February 14 report by the
National Audit Office "has completely failed the expectations of
both the House and the Croatian public."
"The report only seemingly takes into account the
conclusions of the House, while actually it ignores them," said
the statement copies of which were distributed to journalists at
today's session of the lower house.
In its report the government "has shown a lack of will to
determine the responsibility for illegalities in the use and
management of national budget and extrabudgetary funds, thus
becoming partly responsible for concealing these illegalities."
The written proposal for taking a vote of no-confidence
in the government - signed by 14 deputies, including three
members of the Peasant Party and one Christian Democrat - was
sent to Parliament speaker Vlatko Pavletic.
