SARAJEVO, Oct 2 (Hina) - Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic and
Bosnian Federation President Kresimir Zubak on Wednesday signed a
decision by which they appointed General Rasim Delic as the
commander of the Bosnian Federation Army's Joint Command and
Lieutenant General Zivko Budimir as his deputy.
Izetbegovic and Zubak and Bosnian Federation Defense Minister
Vladimir Soljic and his deputy Hasan Cengic today signed an
agreement which stipulates that the Bosnian Federation Defense
Minister and his deputy cannot at the same time be from the same
people.
The same goes for the commander of the Joint Command and his
deputy.
The agreement also stipulates that the Federation's defense
minister and the Joint Command commander cannot at the same time be
from the same people.
Soljic and Cengic today also signed the Agreement on the Basic
Organization of the Bosnian Federation's Defense Ministry, which
should be ratified by the Federation's government at the next
session.
Due to lateness in the application of the regulations of the
Bosnian Federation's Defense Act, the United States recently
stopped the delivery of weapons to the federal army. With today's
decisions and agreements the regulations were finally applied.
