ZAGREB, Sept 20 (Hina) - A disastrous earthquake of September 5
damaged 1,500 buildings in Ston and the Dubrovnik coastal region,
20 percent out of which are unfit to live in.
Because of constant tremors and several stronger earthquakes
which had hit the area later, this information was not final,
unfortunately, Ston municipal head Darko Drazeta told Friday's news
conference in Zagreb.
Most of the residents have been accommodated in some 100 camp-
caravans and 10 converted containers and the reconstruction of
schools in Slano and Ston has begun.
The area is very rich with cultural heritage with 548
registered cultural monuments, 31 out of which are very much
damaged.
