The exact date of the meeting is not known, but is expected to
take place in the next three weeks, Holbrooke said.
The meeting is to focus on economic cooperation and
reconstruction in the whole region, and especially on the
establishment of economic and transport connections between Bosnia
and Serbia.
Asked whether the meeting would be canceled if Izetbegovic was
not chosen into the new Bosnian Presidency or if he did not remain
its president, Holbrooke said that in that case, the necessary
decisions would be made consequently.
He also refuted the possibility of convening a new conference
on Bosnia-Herzegovina.
There would be no question of Dayton II, Holbrooke said,
adding that the already signed peace agreement had to be respected.
Commenting a request of the Democratic Action Party (SDA) that
Saturday's elections in Republika Srpska be annulled, Holbrooke
said that was the stance of a party which would be discussed within
the electoral Appellate Subcommittee.
Holbrooke confirmed that the situation in Bosnia called for an
extension of military presence of the international community in
the country to next year.
The final decision would be reached after the municipal
elections, he added.
