officials on Saturday attended the opening of a ferryboat service on the river Drava near Belisce.
BELISCE, 17 Aug (Hina) - Croatian Vice Premier Ivica Kostovic,
Transitional Administrator in the Croatian Danubian area, General
Jacques Klein, officials of the government Office for Temporary
Administration and Osijek County officials on Saturday attended the
opening of a ferryboat service on the river Drava near Belisce. #L#
General Klein described today's event as an important step
forward in the process of peaceful reintegration and announced new
events in the next two weeks - the opening of the bordercrossing
Knezevo-Udvar, the beginning of minesweeping operations in
Djeletovci and the opening of three meeting points for families
and businesspeople in the former zone of separation.
General Klein stressed that every step forward in the building
of a better future lead to the opening of areas and return of
displaced persons and refugees.
Thanking General Klein for keeping up the pace of the
reintegration process, Vice Premier Kostovic stressed that today's
event was especially important for displaced people 'who see in it
the possibility of return to their homes'.
