ZAGREB, Aug 14 (Hina) - Chairman of the Zagreb City and County
Councils, Zdravko Tomac, on Wednesday forwarded a letter to Prime
Minister Zlatko Matesa, asking him to take "urgent mesures" to
resolve the Zagreb crisis.
"The appointed mayor and county prefect Marina Matulovic-
Dropulic did not resign after the Council took a vote of no
confidence, nor did she appoint a new executive body within the
legal 15-day deadline. The city is illegally administered by the
executive body elected in 1993," Tomac said.
"This is a precedent that undermines the constitutional order
and the democratic legitimacy of the city authorities, and the
Government does nothing, although there are legal means to resolve
this situation," Tomac said.
