"The meeting would focus on the observance of the Dayton
Agreements, particularly the elections," Burns said.
The prerequisites for free and fair elections in Bosnia in
September - the freedom of movement, the freedom of the media and
the extradition of people charged with war crimes - would be the
main topic of the Geneva talks, Burns said.
Christopher is expected to hold separate meetings with
Presidents Alija Izetbegovic, Franjo Tudjman and Slobodan Milosevic
all day. A joint meeting may be held after that.
After Geneva, Christopher is to travel to Sarajevo and review
the progress achieved in civil reconstruction.
He would take the opportunity to "meet with ordinary, average
people and point out to them the importance ... and the opportunity
these elections presented to the people and the country," Burns
said.
Assistant Secretary of State John Kornblum will fly between
Sarajevo, Zagreb and Belgrade as of tomorrow in order to prepare
Christopher's visit.
