ZAGREB, 10 July (Hina) - The first stage in the reconstruction of
family houses in the liberated Croatian areas in southern and
central Croatia might not be completed by 1 September, as had been
planned initially, due to difficulties in establishing ownership of
property. A meeting concerning this problem was held in Zagreb
today under the chairmanship of Reconstruction Minister Jure Radic.
During today's meeting with county prefects, Radic said that
he would ask from the Government to accept as valid certified
written statements of ownership accompanied by statements of two
witnesses and authorized municipal offices.
According to Radic, the simplification of the procedure would
secure the reconstruction of a large number of houses until the
beginning of the new school year.
According to the first plan, which due to the already
mentioned problems will not be completed by 1 September, 6,749
houses were to be reconstructed.
