$ GREB CRISIS-TOMAC
ZAGREB, June 14 (Hina) - President of the Zagreb City Assembly,
Zdravko Tomac, on Friday told reporters that the Seven Party
Opposition Alliance, which is in the majority in the Zagreb city
and county assembly, would not open any political discussions on
recent talks between the Croatian Democratic Union Party (HDZ) and
the Croatian Social-Liberal Party (HSLS).
"The Alliance continues to work normally", Tomac said, adding
that "there were no doubts that it would continue operating until
the elections".
He said that "the government of the Republic of Croatia goes
on protecting illegitimate authority in the City of Zagreb".
Tomac expressed satisfaction with a statement of the HDZ
Presidency, which remained open for future talks despite the
"failure" of talks with HSLS.
He said that the way out of the current situation were joint
talks between HDZ and the Seven Party Opposition Alliance as a
whole.
Tomac announced a session of the Zagreb City Assembly for 17
June and a session of the Zagreb County Assembly for 19 June. The
assembliy would work without proposals and opinions of municipal
authorities, since the current leadership had been formed by former
assembliy.
