Representatives on Friday afternoon passed the Customs Rate Act.

The Act classifies exported or imported goods into one of the
7,500 tariff items.
The Act and the new tariff, to become valid on 1 July 1996,
is, according to Deputy Economy Minister Jasna Boric, founded on
the protection of domestic, particularly agricultural production.
The Lower House also adopted the Act on the Confirmation of
the Change of the Montreal Protocol on Substances which Damage the
Ozone Layer, and the Act on the Confirmation of the Consular
Convention Between Croatia and China.
Also passed was the Act on Foreign Affairs which, among else,
regulates the organization of diplomatic service.
The Lower House rejected a Bill on Amendments to the Act on
Transport Tax in Graphics which had been proposed by
representatives of the Social Democratic Party.
The Lower House expressed trust to Minister of Education and
Sport Ljilja Vokic by a majority of vote.
The session of the House is to continue next week.
