During the talks Pavletic expressed hope that Croatia would
soon be admitted into the Council of Europe with the assistance of
Germany and other friendly countries, adding that the membership
would make Croatia liable to approach European standards more
speedily.
Pavletic stressed that individual incidents could not be
considered an obstacle to Croatia's accession into the Council of
Europe.
Jawurek said that this fifteenth visit to Croatia contributed
to friendly relations between the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ)
and the German Christian Social Union (CSU), as well as among youth
of both parties.
He expressed understanding for the problems of transition of
the Croatian society.
