Stressing that the Jordanian troops had responded with fire,
Arnold reiterated that they would do this whenever they were
attacked or if their freedom of movement was limited.
The pilot-project of distributing pensions in the Baranja
village of Darda is to begin on Tuesday, Arnold said.
He said that the Croat and Serb sides had been presented the
official plan of clearing of mines of the Drava river and the
Vukovar-Osijek road, adding that the transport of fertilizers to
farmers on the occupied areas had begun on May 23, in line with an
agreement on exchange of goods by both sides.
Arnold announced that General Jacques Klein would meet for
talks with members of the Croatian diplomatic corps in Zagreb on
Tuesday and that he would inform them about the proceeding of the
peaceful reintegration.
Klein is to then visit the United States and in early June he
is to hold talks with government officials of the Russian
Federation in Moscow, Arnold said.
