IFOR spokesman in Sarajevo, Simon Haselock, on Monday said
that the governments of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and
the Serb entity were expected to confirm 13 maps containing
different borderlines than those agreed on in Dayton. The
borderline between the Federation and the Serb entity is 1.095 km
long.
General Michael Wilcocks, head of the IFOR Ground Force
Headquarters and president of the Commission for Determining
Borderlines, said that the problem of Dobrinja should be solved as
soon as possible and that it should not be allowed to be a cause of
incidents which occur everyday.
Wilcocks also said that if the two sides do not reach a
compromise, a decision would be made by Admiral Smith and
International Peace Coordinator Carl Bildt.
According to a borderline determined in the peace agreement,
one quarter of Dobrinja is in the Serb entity, and it divides not
only buildings, but also flats in these buildings. According to
this line, the Serb entity also includes a trolley-bus turning
point, even though the buses leaving from it drive only through
districts of Sarajevo which are in the territory of the Federation.
