A couple of locals saw the British soldiers climb the town
rampart and take away the flag.
The flag was returned by the commander of the British troops
which were staying in Primosten.
Commander Towen apologized and said that the troops took down
the flag to take it as a souvenir.
There were traces of extinguished cigarettes and of soil on
the flag.
The perpetrators cannot be persecuted because the county
authorities have no jurisdiction over IFOR.
The soldiers left Primosten on Friday for Mrkonjic Grad where
British troops are deployed.
