ZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - Amnesty International for Croatia (AIH)
on Tuesday asked the Croatian Foreign Ministry to take a critical
view of the violation of human rights in China.
The president of the AIH Executive Council, Milena Beara, told
Tuesday's news conference in Zagreb that the Croatian Amnesty
International would in such a way take part in a campaign through
which the AIH wanted to warn the world public of the violation of
human rights in China.
"Human rights are being violated not only of dissidents, but
also of ethnic and religious groups," Beara said.
The freedom of media was violated in Croatia, a guest at the
conference, Bozo Novak, said on behalf of the Croatian Journalists'
Society, adding that this was obvious in more and more pressure
being put on the media by the Croatian government.
