units and the Command of Dubrovnik Officer Corps. #L#
The decoration ceremony was attended by the commander of
Dubrovnik Officer Corps, Major General Milivoj Petkovic, the
Croatian Navy commander Admiral Sveto Letica, the head of the
Croatian Defence Council (HVO) headquarters, Lieutenant General
Zivko Budimir, the Dubrovnik County Police superintendent Eduard
Cengija, the head of the Croatian Navy command for southern
Adriatic, Captain Ante Urlic, Dubrovnik County Prefect Jure Buric
and Dubrovnik Mayor Nikola Obuljen.
The Croatian army Chief-Of-Staff Zvonimir Cervenko commended
the members of the Dubrovnik Officer Corps for the successful
realization of their duties and for their contribution in the
defence of Croatia's sovereignty, independence and territorial
integrity. The Dubrovnik Officer Corps was also commended for their
participation in the rescuing of the victims of a U.S. plane crash
which happened on 3 April near Dubrovnik airport.
On the behalf of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, General
Cervenko presented the head of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO)
headquarters, Lieutenant General Zivko Budimir, with a special
decoration.
