ZAGREB, April 29 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament representatives, Zlatko Tomcic, Juraj Njavro, and Miroslav Kis, on Monday met with Ukrainian Parliament representatives Genadij Petrovic Dolzenko and Mihajlo Mikolajevic Borsjuk, on
occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
ZAGREB, April 29 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament representatives,
Zlatko Tomcic, Juraj Njavro, and Miroslav Kis, on Monday met with
Ukrainian Parliament representatives Genadij Petrovic Dolzenko and
Mihajlo Mikolajevic Borsjuk, on occasion of the tenth anniversary
of the Chernobyl catastrophe. #L#
Ten years after the catastrophe, problems were increasing and
Ukraine could not resolve them on its own, Ukraine MP's said.
Speaking of the consequences of the catastrophe as regards
human health, the MP's stressed that multiple increase in the
number of children with cancer of the thyroid gland had been
recorded, as well as rapid increase of all kinds of illnesses with
people who used to work in the power plant.
The Ukrainian MP's informed their hosts about the organization
of the Ukrainian Parliament, stressing that three of its 24 working
bodies were concerned with ecological issues and issues of the
Chernobyl catastrophe.
