according to their information, there had been no 'black box' in
the US Commerce Secretary Ron Brown's plane which crashed near
Dubrovnik yesterday. #L#
The plane was not equipped with what one would call a 'black
box', director of the US army Joint Staff operative department,
General Howell Estes said.
According to Estes, what had been found were only parts of the
plane instruments in the shape of a black box. The real black box
was actually orange so that it could be easily found in case of a
plane crash, he said.
'We have confirmed that there are no survivors', General Estes
said, adding that 33 bodies had been recovered. The search would
continue until some obscurities were removed relating to the fact
that there were 35 persons considered to be on board the plane and
that only 33 bodies had been recovered.
Along with U.S. troops, the search also includes Croatian,
French, German, British and Spanish forces.
