Esparza presented Lang with an ECTF medal for humanitarian
efforts in acknowledgment of his successful cooperation with ECTF
in providing assistance to displaced people and refugees in Croatia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Esparza pointed out joint successes and efforts in the
reception of and provision for expelled Croats and Bosniacs
(Moslems) from Banja Luka and northwestern Bosnia.
Lang said his collaboration with ECTF, and with General
Esparza in particular, had been very successful and useful for all
the people who needed aid.
He said that the European Union, through its programmes of
direct aid in food, was the most important donor of relief aid to
Croatia.
Lang said that ECTF had been the first humanitarian
organization to take an active part in the "Let's Save Life"
campaign to help the elderly and abandoned people in the newly
liberated areas, the statement concluded.
