ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak
on Friday received a delegation of the U.S. Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI) which was headed by a representative of the
U.S. Interior Ministry, Timothy Burchifeld, a statement from the
Croatian Interior Ministry Office in charge of public relations

The delegation informed Jarnjak and his assistants about the
education program at the International Police Academy in Budapest
and offered a number of various types of expert help to the
Croatian police force.
Jarnjak accepted an offer made by the U.S. delegation that a
group of Croat police officers attend classes at the Police Academy
in Budapest.
The Academy was founded in late 1994 with the support and
participation of the U.S. and some European Union countries, with
the aim of training police forces for fighting against
internationally organized crime.
The U.S. delegation had on Thursday visited the Police Academy
in Zagreb. They expressed their opinion that the Academy held an
equal place with similar academies around the world, as regards the
quality of lectures and training, the statement said.
