Krnic informed the representatives about the most important
tendencies and processes in Croatia and the region, stressing the
importance of the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian
area into the Croatian constitutional and legal system.
Croatia was making efforts to participate in European
integrational and safety mechanisms, and to develop good relations
with neighbouring countries, Krnic said, adding that such relations
could be based only on the recognition of full sovereignty and
equality of all countries, without attempting to create new
communities in the area.
The South African delegation briefed Krnic about the situation
in their country, stressing the success the national unity
government had in the field of politics.
Speaking of the cooperation between Croatia and the South
African Republic, the participants in the talks agreed that both
countries were interested in strengthening it, especially in the
field of business.
The South African Republic could present a bridge for
Croatia's appearance on that part of the African continent. The
presence of the Croatian community in South Africa has great
significance in that country.
