ZAGREB, March 10 (Hina) - An extensive plan of the United Nations
High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on the return of refugees
and displaced persons included also the return of displaced persons
to the Croatian Danubian area, deputy head of the Croatian
Government Office for Displaced Persons and Refugees, Damir Zoric,
said in last night's news broadcast on Croatian television. In the
last two days, Zoric took part in a meeting of representatives of
35 countries and 30 international associations, who discussed an
UNHCR operative plan for the return of refugees and displaced
persons to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. #L#
The UNHCR plan was important for Croatia because it envisaged
the return of Bosnian refugees from Croatia and their return from
third countries, primarily from Western European countries.
Zoric recalled that only Germany cared for 320,000 refugees.
On their way back, all those refugees had to go through Croatia in
line with the UNHCR plan and in line with Croatia's activities,
Zoric said, stressing that the plan provided for the assistance of
UNHCR in promoting the return and reintegration. The realisation of
the plan would run along with the realisation of security
conditions in eastern Slavonia by UNTAES (United Nations Task Force
in Eastern Slavonia).'This is something our delegation demanded at
the meeting which took place on 16 January in Geneva', Zoric said.
Asked how the meeting judged the current situation in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Zoric said that they commended the pilot-projects on
the return of Muslim refugees in Sarajevo and Stolac. However, the
news that Croats still could not return to Bugojno was received
with dissatisfaction, he added.
