ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - Winners of the "Antonio Janigro" First International Violoncellist Competition were announced Sunday night in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb.
ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - Winners of the "Antonio Janigro" First
International Violoncellist Competition were announced Sunday
night in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb. #L#
Metthieu Roge from France won the first award. He was
followed by Monika Leskovar from the Zagreb Violoncellist School,
a statement from the Zagreb Concert Management said.
The third award went to Jadranka Gasparovic from Zagreb,
while the fourth went to the Russian Serge Oskotsky.
The Janigro Family and the Romanini Fund award, consisting
of seminars held by the famous violoncellist Mario Brunnel, went
to Milan Hudnik from Slovenia. Ivana Svarc from Zagreb was
pronounced the best rehearser of the competition.
All finalists in the competition received money prizes from
the Raiffeisenbank from Austria.
The competition was organized under the sponsorship of the
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, and it will take place every
fourth year.
