A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON THURSDAY

ZAGREB, Feb 15 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK devotes the front page to yesterday's session of the House of Representatives. The article, headlined "Tax Credit to Farmers", details the parliamentary debate and quotes Deputy Prime Minister Skegro's denial that "he had never threatened anyone with a gun." The paper runs an interview with the President's advisor Zlatko Canjuga, focused on the Zagreb mayor issue. Upbraiding those who "cared more for their individual interests and those of their party than the interests of Zagreb and Croatia," and "who had no understanding for democratic life in Croatia," Canjuga stressed that HDZ's reconciliation policy opposed all forms of radicalism. The paper runs a comment piece by Jozo Cuic, headlined "Whose man is Jozo?" The article deals with snow in Zagreb, the Herzegovina lobby and the appointment of the Zagreb Mayor. The "Topical Issue" column explains the rights of workers under the new Labour Act. VECERNJI LIST carries an exclusive interview with Defence Minister Gojko Susak, who announced Croatia's admittance to the Partnership for Peace for May. "Both Croatia and the US have attained their main goals and contentious issues, such as the Mostar issue and the progress of the Federation, have ben resolved with understanding from both sides," Minister Susak said of his visit to Washington. "The Moslems are satisfied - and how about the Croats?" wanders Mate Piskor in a comment piece devoted to Koschnik's decree. A comment piece by Mirko Galic, headlined "The American Lesson" analyses Europe's attitude to the events in Bosnia- Herzegovina. The paper extensively covers the parliamentary debate on the State Audit Office report. (hina) jn as 151201 MET feb 96
