The remains of four bodies have been found in the area of Bare
and three other bodies have been found in Vrbice. These two
locations are suspected of hiding more mass graves and will
therefore be thoroughly searched.
Expert of the U.N. Commission for Human Rights, Manfred Nowak
was present at today's exhumation in Bare and Vrbice.
Nowak said that there were some 30,000 persons registered
missing in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. As long as the problem
of missing persons was treated as a humanitarian issue, it would be
difficult to achieve a lasting peace in accordance with the
provisions of the Dayton agreement, he added.
