The first shipment of the dangerous waste was sent by the
Agency to France in December 1994.
The Agency, entitled by the Croatian state administration for
the environment protection to perform such duty, also conducts the
data-base on equipment with the PCB. According to the estimates by
the Agency, there are more than 340 firms in Croatia which use
equipment that contains the PCB.
The Basel convention, that went into effect in August 1994,
makes possible that the BCP, as dangerous waste, can be exported.
