This year, the Muslim calendar's ninth month of Ramadan starts
on January 21.
"This Ramadan too, brothers and sisters, finds us in hard
conditions, faced with numerous problems of the past years," the
mufti's message said.
"Patience and persistence are the main characteristics of
Ramadan, so we again must hope for better future in the coming
years. The recently achieved peace, though unjust and bitter for
many of us, will nevertheless be one care the less during this
Ramadan," the message said.
