SARAJEVO, Dec 5 (Hina) - Friday's session on which the Parliament of
Bosnia-Herzegovina was expected to adopt the law on travel
documents and citizenship was once again postponed.
After three-hour consultations behind closed doors with
representatives of party benches, deputy chairman of the Lower
House, Halid Genjac, told reporters that the Serb side had come out
with new requests regarding the design of the Front page of a
Bosnia-Herzegovina passport.
Although it had been agreed earlier that all of the passport's text
be written in English, representatives of the Serb Democratic Party
requested additional texts in Croatian, Bosniak and Serbian, in the
Latin and Cyrillic alphabets.
According to Genjac, MPs were ready to accept this request, but
found unacceptable the Serbs' new request that letters naming the
two entities in Bosnia-Herzegovina be enlarged.
The Serb side also refused to discuss the law on citizenship without
the previous adoption of the law on passports.
