PRESIDENT'S OFFICE: UNTRUE STATEMENTS ABOUT VONS SESSION

( Editorial: --> 5580 ) ZAGREB, Dec 3 (Hina) - The office of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman issued a statement on Wednesday describing as untrue statements and comments published in the media which claimed that a session of the Council for Defence and National Security (VONS) was urgently convened immediately after the release of returns of the Sunday local elections. The session of the VONS, held on Monday (December 1), was called on Saturday (29 November) and on Saturday morning all members of VONS were informed of and called to the session in regular way, the statement said adding that the media were also informed of that on the same day.
