CRO PREMIER RECEIVES BADEN-WUERTTEMBERG DELEGATION

( Editorial: --> 4441 ) ZAGREB, Nov 28 (Hina) - Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa on Friday received a delegation of German federal state Baden-Wuerttemberg, headed by vice premier and economy minister Walter Doering. According to Doering, the talks with Matesa were "very good and constructive". Baden-Wuerttemberg greatly respected what Croatia had done in reconstruction and was amazed at the macro-economic results, especially the growth rate and privatization, he told reporters after the talks. We are interested in contributing both politically and economically to the reconstruction of Croatia, Doering said, adding he accepted Matesa's proposal for a short information seminar to be held in Baden-Wuerttemberg, in order to acquaint Baden-Wuerttemberg businessmen and Croats living in Germany with the works of Croatia's market. Doering was also satisfied with talks on environment protection. He said today's talks were another proof of the traditionally good relations between Croatia and Baden-Wuerttemberg. According to Croatia's Matesa, the talks discussed possibilities of economic investments in Croatia, and were another step in intense cooperation with German federal states. "The economic relations between Germany and Croatia are intensifying and (...) the time is here when direct foreign investments in Croatia are becoming increasingly attractive", the Croatian premier said. Matesa said he and Doering discussed projects on the economic reconstruction of the Croatian Danube river region and projects related to infrastructure. "Such talks are of exceptional importance for Croatia's economy", Matesa said. (hina) ha 281505 MET nov 97
