VUKOVAR, Nov 15 (Hina) - Experts on Friday exhumed the remains of 17
Croatian soldiers and civilians from three mass graves and several
individual graves in Bogdanovci, a devastated village near
Vukovar, in Croatia's eastern UN-administered region.
The soldiers and civilians had been killed during the defense and
occupation of the village in the autumn of 1991, head of the
Croatian government Commission for Imprisoned and Missing Persons,
Lt, Col. Ivan Grujic said on Saturday.
Family members had identified ten of the victims, and the rest had
been transported to Zagreb for identification, Grujic said.
Exhumation was being carried out at the moment in Bogdanovci,
Petrovci and Ernestinovo, and should soon begin in Vukovar, he
added.
