GELBARD'S DEPUTY VISITS MOSTAR

( Vidi vijest: 5622 ) MOSTAR, Oct 24 (Hina) - Mathey Dealy, deputy to the US special envoy for the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement Robert Gelbard, visited the southern Bosnian town of Mostar on Friday where he held separate talks with Mayor Ivan Prskalo, his deputy Safet Orucevic and head of the Hercegovina-Neretva canton Fatima Leho. Dealy told reporters that the US government would continue to fully support the Dayton agreement. US President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright are crystal clear in their intention to ensure implementation of the Dayton peace agreement, he said. The international troops will not leave Bosnia in June 1998 and will stay there in the future to keep the peace, Dealy stressed. Prskalo said that they also discussed possibilities of US companies providing aid to Mostar. According to a statement from Orucevic's office, the US diplomat said during the talks with Orucevic and Leho that peacekeeping troops would remain in Bosnia-Herzegovina, but that their new mandate had not yet been defined.
