LOVAS, 29 Sept (Hina) - The residents of Lovas, a municipality in the part of Vukovar County under temporary U.N. administration, on Monday celebrated the day of the patron saint of Lovas, St Michael.

the part of Vukovar County under temporary U.N. administration, on
Monday celebrated the day of the patron saint of Lovas, St Michael.

The event was attended by some 300 Lovas residents, of whom
many visited their village for the first time since their expulsion.
A retired Djakovo Bishop, Msgr. Ciril Kos, conducted a mass in
front of the destroyed local church of St Michael.
The event was also attended by the Lovas municipal head Zeljko
Cirba, Ilok and Vukovar mayors Vladimir Stengl and Stipan Kraljevic,
parliamentary representatives Dragan Papac and Petar Cobankovic,
Tovarnik and Nijemci municipal heads Marinko Beljo and Ivica Klem
and representatives of Djurdjevac, where many exiled Lovas residents
were accommodated during their exile.
