ZAGREB, 25 Sept (Hina) - A Croatian Defence Ministry delegation,
led by Deputy Defence Minister Kresimir Cosic, on Thursday
returned from a two-day working visit to Turkey. #L#
The purpose of the visit was the strengthening of military
cooperation between Croatia and Turkey, especially their
military-economic cooperation, said Cosic upon his arrival.
The Croatian delegation held talks with Turkey's Deputy
Defence Minister and many generals and representatives of the
Turkish army and military industry.
The Croatian-Turkish cooperation was based on a framework
agreement on cooperation signed by the Defence Minister in June
last year, said Cosic.
A very important and complex area was military-economic
cooperation, Cosic said, adding that Turkey was a global force
which had very modern weapons and produced complex arms systems.
Special importance was attached to the purchase of 'Casa'
cargo planes, which had been discussed for some time, he said.
Croatia, Turkey and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina
would hold a set of talks on cooperation in the production of
more complex weapons, Cosic concluded.
