The Japanese decision of 1991 on not giving insurance for
business with Croatia has been made invalid. The decision had as
a consequence significantly limited possibilities of business
cooperation between the two countries in the last six years.
The most recent decision of the Japanese government is the
result of a visit of a Japanese group of experts to Croatia near
the end of last year, at the initiative of the former minister
Shinji Sato.
The Japanese delegation assessed that economic conditions
in Croatia had significantly improved, the decision said,
stressing the successful agreement on the rescheduling of
Croatia's debt to Japan.
The decision on issuing insurance for trade and investment
jobs with Croatia takes effect on Thursday.
