SARAJEVO, 17 Sept (Hina) - German diplomat and deputy to the High International Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Gerd Wagner, was killed Wednesday in a helicopter crash which happened in the area of Mt Vranica near the Bosnian
town of Fojnica (some 40 km west of Sarajevo), western diplomats in Sarajevo said. Wagner was killed along with 10 other persons who were aboard the helicopter.
SARAJEVO, 17 Sept (Hina) - German diplomat and deputy to the High
International Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Gerd Wagner, was
killed Wednesday in a helicopter crash which happened in the area of
Mt Vranica near the Bosnian town of Fojnica (some 40 km west of
Sarajevo), western diplomats in Sarajevo said. Wagner was killed
along with 10 other persons who were aboard the helicopter. #L#
Four persons were injured and one is considered missing, U.N.
spokesman in Sarajevo Jim Landale said, adding that 12 passengers
and four Ukrainian crew members were aboard the helicopter.
Members of the Stabilisation Force (SFOR), International
Police Force (IPTF) and Federation Interior Ministry are on the
crash site, Landale said.
According to unofficial information, the passengers were six
members of the Office of the High Representative and six IPTF
members.
Steve Campbell, spokesman for the Pentagon, confirmed in
Washington that 11 persons were killed in the crash.
