ZAGREB, Sept 17 (Hina) - Croatian industrial output in August was
1.8 per cent higher than in the same month last year, the State
Bureau of Statistics said in a statement on Wednesday.
In a period from January to the end of August, industrial
production rose by 4.8 per cent in comparison to the same period
last year.
Production growth was mostly encouraged by the increased
production of non-durable consumer goods, which was up by 15.1
per cent compared to August 1996.
According to 1995 figures, non-durable consumer goods
accounted for 38.64 per cent of the gross domestic product.
