BELGRADE, Sept 16 (Hina) - The joint Croatian-Yugoslav commission
for the implementation of article 7 of the agreement on the
normalisation of relations between the two countries, which
refers to the return of refugees and displaced persons, held its
fifth session in Belgrade on Tuesday.
A brief statement from the session said that the commission
discussed issues regarding the creation of conditions for an
unobstructed, two-way return of refugees and displaced persons.
The commission heard a report on the number of families and
persons who had returned to Croatia after the signing of the
normalisation agreement. It also discussed property relations
issues and agreed on speeding up the implementation of provisions
of the said article.
Article 7 of the normalisation agreement obliges Croatia
and Yugoslavia to ensure conditions for a free and safe return of
refugees and displaced persons and the restitution of their
property.
The meeting was chaired by Radivoj Rajakovic, assistant
Yugoslav minister of justice and head of the Yugoslav
representatives on the commission. The Croatian delegation was
led by Bozo Marendic, head of the office for the project of
succession of the former Yugoslavia.
