ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - An International Monetary Fund (IMF)
technical mission began a ten-day working visit to Croatia on
Thursday to examine a strategy for the development of the banking
system, the National Bank of Croatia said in a statement.
Croatia has so far made important steps forward in the
rehabilitation and modernisation of the banking system.
In discussions with the IMF mission particular attention
will be paid to the possible ways of privatising banks, treatment
of insolvent banks, deposit insurance, bank control, development
of a non-bank financial sector and related issues, the statement
said.
