Yilmaz. #L#
Present at the talks were Croatian Ambassador to Turkey and
Croatian General Consul in Istanbul, Boris Mitrovic.
Porges informed Yilmaz about the development of the
political situation in Croatia.
Yilmaz gave his full support to Croatia's efforts to access
world financial institutions, European structures and
associations, as a central European and Mediterranean country.
Croatia's role because of its position in Europe and an
increasingly dynamic economy, was practically unavoidable in the
integration and other processes, the participants of the meeting
said.
Yilmaz and Porges stressed the importance of the
development of economic and other cooperation as soon as
possible, for which all conditions had been met and the need
expressed.
Porges on Thursday also met his Turkish counterpart, Gunes
Tuner, with whom he signed a Protocol on the Establishment of a
Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation, which also marks the
end of the second, final round of talks between Croatia and
Turkey at the ministerial level.
Participants of the talks stressed that the results of
Porges's two-day talks in Ankara would contribute to the general
success of the upcoming meeting between presidents Suleyman
Demirel and Franjo Tudjman.
Unofficial sources say that this sixth meeting between the
two heads of state will take place in Zagreb on 22 September.
